The Women in the Wild program encourages women to spend more time in nature by teaching outdoor skills and reducing barriers to participation—for example, providing loaner equipment such as backpacks, sleeping bags, and tents.
The San Diego County Department of Parks and Recreation holds six to 12 Women in the Wild events per year, including hiking, camping, fishing, and kayaking. The program has been extremely successful, with many events reaching capacity.
The San Diego County Parks Society has been a proud sponsor of many of these events, and with your support, we’d like help expand the program to reach even more people.
